Description
I have raced this event more than 20 times spanning the Club to Masters to Open events. Last year I steered my crew to a 5th place in the Grand Master 4+, and have medaled several times in the past. I have both USRowing and Rowing Australia level 2 coaching certifications. The Charles River is where I trained. Prior experience includes Eastern Sprints, Royal Henley Regatta, Royal Canadian Henley, Head of the Ohio, Head of the Housatonic, Head of the Riverfront. I have coached high school crews to state finals and assistant coached for a NCAA DIV I team.
Additionally my mariner and dinghy sailing background informs how I approach the management of the race and the competitors as well as the boat. My philosophy: Head Racing isn’t about getting the rowers to row the boat through the water as fast as they can at all times. It is, however, about getting the boat from the start to finish line as fast as possible by seeking the advantageous conditions while putting the competition in disadvantageous positions as needed. I can be available for at least part of the week leading up to the event.
I am open to all events.
